What is an Outbound Department?
In addition to outbound caller ID, as an admin user you can control what the outbound department is for each user making outbound calls. This feature is useful if some of your users belong to multiple departments and you need to organize in your call reporting which department their outbound calls pertain to.
How do I update a user's Outbound Department?
"Outbound Department" settings can only be updated by Administrators with full access to the System Administration area. In order to create a Call Center Group for monitoring, please follow the steps below:
3. Click on "RingByName Setup" on the navigation bar along the top of the screen, or "Main Setup".
4. Click on the "Users" in the selection area in the first column of the main area.
5. Select the user you want to update, and on the far-right in the 'Outbound Department' field you can start typing the name of the department and a list will appear with the auto-completed department names. Select the department desired from the list.
6. Once you've selected a department, select "Save" at the bottom.
How do I view reporting based on the outbound department?
Once here, you can search for these calls by using the filter 'All outbound calls' under Filter by Type and your desired department under Filter by Department. In the Advanced Search Form, click "Search". RingByName will return a list of all calls that match that given criteria.
