Device Management – Monitor, Assign & Control All User Devices in One Place

RingByName’s Device Management module provides a centralized hub where administrators can view, manage, and troubleshoot every device connected to the organization’s phone system.This feature introduces two powerful sub-sections:


User’s Devices – a user-centric view of device and forwarding assignments 
Active Devices – a real-time list of all registered and unregistered hardware and softphones on the system

Device Management enables teams to support hundreds of devices with the same visibility and responsiveness as teams with just a few dozen. 

How do I get to Device Management? 

Device Management is accessible from your Ringbyname OX Admin Dashboard.
1.      Login to your RingByName account.
2.      Click on your name at the top-right corner of the screen. Select "Go to System Administration" from the drop-down list.



3.      Click on "Device Management" on the navigation bar along the top of the screen.

   



How do I use Device Management? 

The User's Devices section, lists every user in the company along with the number of devices assigned to them. This view is ideal for onboarding, offboarding, auditing, or quickly checking or updating a user hardware or forwarding. You can select or search for any user from the list using their name, their username, their center name, their mac address, their public ip address, or their sip port. You can export any of your search results for reports on users and their device data.


You can also add new credentials for devices and forwards as well with the 'add' option on the right and toggle any devices for the user you select. You'll see their registered devices and enabled forwards in green on the right. You'll also see their unregistered devices and disabled forwards in red.


The Active Devices section, gives a live, system-wide view of every device currently configured or registered on the platform. This view is ideal for monitoring device registrations, auditing orphaned devices, reviewing provisioning statuses, sorting devices by their office location (unique public IP), unassigning devices, reassigning devices to new agents or troubleshooting in general. You can select or search for any user from the list using their name, their username, their center name, their mac address, their public ip address, or their sip port same as the User's Devices section. Here you can also sort by the various columns. You can export any of your results for reports on the devices and registrations of different offices. 

Any devices you've purchased through Ringbyname with our auto provisioning system can be reassigned to other agents. Simply select a device, and you'll have an 'assigned to' section to change the user who's registered. Once you do reassign a device, some models require a reboot, others a factory reset to properly re-provision to the new user.  




Is the information live?
Yes. Like the QSpace and Queue Monitor, all device information is displayed in real-time! If your monitoring multiple sites, you can search by an office's public IP or Center and see if they're having any connectivity issues.
